Petrographic observations of the calcareous rocks:
The calcareous rocks in question have sedimentary origin and are part of Sicilian marble basins; in particular they consist of   various colors conglomerates and breccias whose elements are held together by a matrix in which can be recognized the presence of smaller clasts.

Basalt petrographic observation:
The nature of the rock consists of effusive material.
This is a volcanic rock with characteristic porphyritic structure and texture slightly fluid because of the orientation of some crystals. The rock shows crystals of olivine, pyroxenes and magnetite.
